A nice simple garden design layout, with a secluded patio at the end of the garden.

Note the sense of 'journey' through the garden the visitor gets to reach the patio.

I think sitting at the patio would feel relaxed and private, lots of plants means a natural feel.

A slightly more complicated plan with interlocking shapes.

Note how all the main features are kept in the center of the garden, meaning the boundaries are less important - this means you could adapt this garden design layout for a garden with an awkward shape, or irregular boundaries.

Very nice use of water here - that you are able to enjoy while seated. If you have young children you might want to swap these for attractive flower beds instead.

A lovely garden with a very watery feel. Water can be a fantastic feature in any garden, but here you might want to have the larger circle as a patio, and another as a flower bed.

Once again note the idea of 'journey' through the garden with a simple pathway or stepping stones leading you through.

Great structure with the interlocking circles - you might want to try a circular lawn in your own garden?

This is a very informal garden with a naturalistic feel - note how the shapes are natural and flowing, rather than the more 'formal' circles and squares in the previous garden design pictures.

This creates a garden with a more relaxed and informal feel - and is great for a wildlife or nature garden too, where a more formal structure would feel inappropriate.

An informal garden design layout can also be a fantastic idea for those awkward shaped backyards and gardens, where you can't quite get those other shapes to work.

Still note how simple it is though - with long sweeping curves, not wiggly waves!

Lots of lush green vegetation and foliage adds to the relaxed, natural feel here too.
